| Secara historis Desa Songgokerto mempunyai sejarah panjang, terbukti dengan berdirinya "Candi" satu-satunya di Kota Batu yang dikenal dengan nama "Candi Supo", Dimana pertama kali ditemukan oleh arkeolog Belanda bernama Van I Isseldijk pada tahun 1799M. Candi Supo berdiri karena keinginan Empu Sindok membangun tempat peristirahatan keluarga Kerajaan Medang, disekitar pegunungan dan sumber mata air panas. Empu Supo yang diberi mandat untuk membangun tempat itu pada tahun 927M-947M, dan sekarang bernama Candi Supo yang berlokasi di Songgoriti. Tidak jauh dari Home Stay dan Hotel di Songgokerto. Sejak zaman sebelum revolusi pun desa Songgokerto sudah menjadi tempat destinasi dan tinggal bagi para petinggi-petinggi orang Belanda di Kota Batu, terbukti dengan masih tertinggal rumah atau villa bergaya arsitektur Belanda. |
